Marc has over 35 years of experience in forestry. His knowledge of natural resource management is diverse and extensive – stemming from his experience as a logger in Eastern Canada, and through the positions he has held in academia, industry, and private consulting firms. Combined with his high level of education from accredited institutions, this experience allows Marc to participate with the utmost confidence on any project relating to natural resource management, including: forest inventory, timber cruising, silvicultural prescriptions, harvest system analysis, timber sale layout design, watershed analysis, and vegetation inventory and mapping. He is a registered professional forester in the state of California, a Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters, and a member of the Forest Guild. Joseph Dubeau

Joe began working in the natural resource and land management field in 2016 and has been with IRM since 2022. Prior to joining the IRM team, Joe worked in a range of forest types stretching from Southeast Alaska to the Sierra Nevada. This experience working in various forest types and professional environments, accompanied with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Natural Resources with a concentration in Geographical Information Systems from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, has allowed Joe to excel as a project manager helping landowners, private organizations, and government entities achieve their desired management objectives. Whether it is overseeing silvicultural treatments, writing management plans, or analyzing geospatial data, Joe’s passion for forestry and land management is always apparent through his work. Byron Kempl

Byron has Master’s Degree in Sustainable Forest Management, from OSU and an a bachelor’s in Forest Resources Management from NYS. He has been working in forest and natural resource related projects for over 7 years. He is highly skilled at leading diverse stakeholders in collaborative processes to accomplish landscape restoration and management. He has worked for the Tuolumne River Trust as Headwaters Program Director & Forest Planner managing program staff and projects focused on landscape restoration. He is currently CEO of Krempl Consulting as a contracted Project Manager for several firms and agencies including the Climate and Wildfire Institute, the American Forest Foundation and the County of Tuolumne and the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation. He is adept at communicating and applying science to restoration initiatives using state and federal policies to enact change. His love for the outdoors began with Boy Scouts reaching the highest honor as an Eagle Scout.

 

Zachary Jackson

Zach has a bachelor of science in Forestry from Humboldt State University. He has over 15 years experience in forestry.  His primary experience is with the art and science of managing trees as a crop and he is always seeking knowledge in production forestry, environmental protection and monitoring, restoration ecology, systems analysis, to further expanding his  skillset in adjacent fields.  He has worked for several consulting firms including Jacobszoon & Associates, Patrick Hovland Forestry, Dynamic Forestry and IRM. He is highly skilled in timber cruising and appraisals, harvest planning and layout, forest management planning and inventory, timber marking, and Geographic Information Systems project management/LiDAR data analysis and mapping. He has the ability to successfully manage both large/complex and small projects simultaneously with exceptional problem-solving skills when evaluating sites and working to meet client goals while balancing regulatory requirements. He volunteers with the Forestry Challenge, Forestry and Natural Resources Career Mentorship Program and the Redwood Children’s Services.
