Marc D. Barnes
Senior Project Manager, Owner
Mr. Barnes has over twenty years of experience in forestry. His knowledge of natural resource management is diverse and extensive - stemming from his experience as a logger in Eastern Canada, and through the positions he has held in academia, industry, and private consulting firms. Combined with his high level of education from accredited institutions, this experience allows Mr. Barnes to participate with the utmost confidence on any project relating to natural resource management, including: forest inventory, timber cruising, silvicultural prescriptions, harvest system analysis, timber sale layout design, watershed analysis, and vegetation inventory and mapping. He is a registered professional forester in the state of California, a Certified Forester through the Society of American Foresters, and a member of the Forest Guild. Mr. Barnes is president, owner, and founder of Integrated Resource Management, employing experts in the fields of forestry, forest engineering, silviculture, and ecology since 1996.

Darin Stringer
Senior Project Manager, Owner
Mr. Stringer's expertise focuses on developing alternative silviculture systems to achieve diverse objectives. He has considerable knowledge of habitat requirements of Northwest forest wildlife and silvicultural strategies to maintain and/or achieve desired forest conditions. His work experience in this area includes development of numerous silvicultural prescriptions for multi-cohort and extended rotation even-age management on both public and non-industrial ownerships throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as both growth and yield, and wildlife habitat modeling under different forest management regimes. Mr. Stringer's understanding of forest ecology and silviculture includes the drier forest types of the intermountain west and southwest Oregon. Recently he has emerged as one of the leading silviculturists and restoration foresters working to develop methods for recovering oak habitats in the Willamette Valley. He holds a Masters of Science from Oregon State University in Silviculture and Forest Ecology, and an Associate's Degree in Forestry from Central Oregon Community College. He is currently involved in the McKenzie Stewardship Group, and is Director of the Forest Restoration Partnership, a non-profit organization promoting science-based restorative forest management. He has also participated as a Peer Reviewer during forest assessments for certification by the SmartWood Forest Certification label.

Nicole Younger Project Manager
Mrs. Younger has over eight years of training and work experience in forest management. While growing up in Maine, Mrs. Younger found her passion for forestry among the Eastern white pines and balsam firs in her father's small woodlot. After cum laud completion of her Bachelors of Science in Forestry in 2002, Mrs. Younger did inventory work for Starker Forests of Oregon, and then worked for Weyerheauser Western Timberlands. After getting her feet wet, Mrs. Younger pursued a Masters of Science at Oregon State University in forest biometrics. Prior to graduation, she accepted the position as Project Manager for Integrated Resource Management. Mrs. Younger successfully defended her thesis in June 2007, and is currently overseeing most of the forest inventory data collection, conducting analysis with Assisi software, managing properties for multiple woodlot owners, overseeing harvests, and conducting timber appraisals for IRM. She is active in the Growth Models Users Group, Western Mensurationists, Marys Peak Stewardship Group, and chair elect of the Marys Peak Society of American Foresters.

Kathy von Arx Office Manager
Ms. von Arx has been with Integrated Resource Management as the lead Office Manager since 2003. She comes from a natural resources background which has significantly enhanced her work quality and understanding of projects at IRM. Ms. von Arx graduated from Oregon State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture with an emphasis in Education. She is currently in charge of bookkeeping, office management, supporting project managers, and also successfully carries out project manager duties for several large scale inventory projects throughout Oregon.

Donald Gagliasso Forest Technician
Since 2006, Mr. Gagliasso has been juggling full time schoolwork while working at IRM part-time, and remaining involved in the profession through his officer duties in the OSU chapter of the Society of American Foresters, and being a qualified inspector for the American Tree Farm System. While finishing his Bachelors of Science in Forest Management at Oregon State University, Mr. Gagliasso worked on various forest inventory projects and assisted with the management of a large tract of forestland on the Oregon coast. Mr. Gagliasso currently manages Integrated Resource Management's GIS database and is pursuing his Masters of Science in a unique course of study which blends GIS technology with forest biometrics. He is expected to finish his MS in 2010, and return to IRM full-time.

Matthew Mellenthin Forest Technician
After graduating from University of Wisconsin in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Natural Resources, Mr. Mellenthin began his career with Integrated Resource Management. He has worn several hats for IRM, starting out as a forest inventory technician and growing into a successful project manager and habitat restoration ecologist. When not collecting data on forest inventory projects, Mr. Mellenthin assists with forest restoration projects throughout Oregon. This includes overseeing crews for jobs which involve burning, spraying, and seeding. He obtained his Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicators license in 2007, and has led multiple projects involving integrated herbaceous weed management and eradication since then. His wildlife management background, and steady outdoors work ethic is a valuable asset to Integrated Resource Management and the forest restoration sector of the company.

Adrian Thayer Forest Technician
Mr. Thayer has been with Integrated Resource Management since 2004 when he began his career as a forest inventory technician. Mr. Thayer attended Green River Community College in Seattle, Washington, graduating in 2003 with an Associates of Applied Science in Natural Resources. Since becoming employed with Integrated Resource Management, Mr. Thayer has grown into a very reliable and consistent timber cruiser as well a project manager. He has been vital in insuring inventory projects get completed on time and within budget. His common job duties include assisting in the management and training of inventory crews, data collection and transfer, and project administration. He also maintains a Washington County field office.

Caleb Goss Machine Operator
Mr. Goss's personality and outstanding work ethic are a product of his unique prior work experiences which ranged from horse wrangling to computer network maintenance to heavy equipment operation. Before accepting the position with IRM, Mr. Goss ran brush-mowing equipment for right-of-way clearing for four years, making him a top candidate for our mastication machine, the LightfootTM. It was his passion to do something better for the environment that lead him to Integrated Resource Management. Today, Mr. Goss is completely responsible for the operation and maintenance of IRM's LightfootTM.
