Believe it or not, the Willamette Valley gets as much sun annually as the national average, making this locale an excellent candidate for producing solar power. The 18' x 20' solar panels, installed on our roof in November, are expected to produce 2,566 kWh on an annual basis. This will reduce our energy consumption by 34%. This means that over the life of the system (30 years) 48,072 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from traditional power plants will be avoided! IRM's additional energy comes from windpower, as supplied by Pacific Powers Blue Sky program.
