Northwest Certified Forestry – Preferred Provider, Northwest Natural Resource Group
IRM is a Preferred Provider for Northwest Natural Resource Group’s Northwest Certified Forestry Program. This status allows clients to feel confident that the consultant they have chosen follows the guidelines of the Northwest Certified Forestry Program.

Member – Forest Stewards Guild
The Forest Stewards Guild is a membership organization of field foresters and associated land stewards whose work is broadly acknowledged as providing tangible examples of sustainable forestry.
Registered Professional Forester (Marc Barnes) – #2538, State of California
In 1990 Marc Barnes obtained his California Registered Professional Forester (RFP) license. An RFP is registered by the State of California to perform professional services that require the application of forestry principles and techniques to the management of forested landscapes. All forestry related work within California must be supervised by an RPF. RFPs must pass a comprehensive exam demonstrating an understanding of forest growth, development and regeneration, soils, geology and hydrology, wildlife and fisheries biology, and other forest resources.
Natural Resource Conservation Service: Technical Service Provider
In October 2011, Marc Barnes became a Technical Service Provider (TSP) for the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). TSPs are individual consultants, businesses, or agencies certified by the NRCS to provide technical services to landowners. By hiring a TSP, you are able to get the expertise in your area of focus in a timely manner and with a reasonable price. As a TSP, Marc will be able to assist you in the creation of forest management and conservation plans on your property.
Commercial Pesticide Applicator – Department of Agriculture, State of Oregon, License #162060
IRM is a certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator through the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA). IRM maintains this license through annual re-certification and continuing education approved by the ODA.
Two Chiefs’ Partnership Award
In August 2011, Marc Barnes was awarded the Two Chiefs’ Partnership Award for his contribution to the success of the Collaborative Coastal Whole Watershed Restoration in 2010.The Two Chiefs’ Partnership award is a national award that is presented annually by the Chiefs of the USDA Forest Service and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services to recognize exemplary partnership efforts promoting conservation and forest stewardship. Marc was awarded this honor for his participation with the Siuslaw Stewardship Groups and their stewardship projects.
